it's that time of year...

The saying, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree holds true for Erica and I.  Our mother crafted these costumes for us 18 or so years ago.  Her skills proved worthy as we won first place for them in the Cresco Halloween costume contest and rightfully so might I add--How cute were we?...This little trip down memory lane has me counting down the days until I am reunited with friends and family for the holidays!

Design can make a difference!

GO PRO: NYC – PRO Bono Work Panel at Knoll from ASID on Vimeo.  I attended this lecture as a part of ASID's GO PRO: NYC event in September.  It is easy to forget the impact that design can have!

Beautiful!

"I’VE ALWAYS BELIEVED ONE COULD LIVE MANY LIVES THROUGH THE WAY WE DRESS AND THE PLACES WE TRAVEL TO, EVEN IF JUST IN OUR IMAGINATION. THE WORLD IS OPEN TO US, AND EACH DAY IS AN OCCASION TO REINVENT OURSELVES. "

Antiques and a Vintage Train

Today I went to The Antiques, Art and Design show at the Park Avenue Armory.  Which was full of unique and beautiful items from around the world and paintings by Picasso, Monet and Matisse to name a few.  To finish my day, I took a ride on a vintage subway train which was running to promote HBO's new season of Boardwalk Empire.  It was a nostalgic experience for the woman that sat across from me who had grown up with the the subway.

Chocolate Creation

A chocolate bar in Rome created this tasty little treat, baleys, whip cream sprinkles galore and all in a chocolate shot glass. It was perfecto!

September 1st...

Wow! Where did the summer go?  With it being September 1st, fall is just around the corner.  Fall is my favorite season, and this fall I am fortunate enough to spend it in the Big Apple.  Look forward to seeing my own photos of fall in Central Park!

follow the voice!

Sometimes life lessons are taught when we are very young.  I referenced a Shel Silverman poem from my childhood that fit the situation I was facing.  I had a tough choice between two great opportunities.  Everyone had their own opinion, and I realized that this is my life and this is my decision.  The bottom line is if you are true to yourself and work hard everything will be ok in the end.

New Age

Modern contrasts immensely against the original Italian architecture in Roma.
