Inspired By the Midwest

Amy Butler, author of Midwest Modern, artist, fabric designer and past editor of Country Living magazine finds inspiration from her homeland, the Midwest.  I have lived in the Midwest all of my life.  There is just something about the endless horizon, blue skies and green fields (an icy white tundra at this time of year) that inspires creativity.  In Amy's designs you can see reoccurring inspiration from the Midwest through the use of bright shades of green and blue and natural motifs.  A lot of her work has an updated retro vibe as well which I love.  On her website there are free downloadable craft patterns.  One of my favorites are the paper pinwheels which would make great Holiday ornaments! There are also great ideas for last-minute homemade gifts.  http://www.amybutlerdesign.com/products/free_paper_projects.php
